Day 1 in New Orleans

I have finally decided to blog about my trip. There was one point where I felt too lazy to blog, but I also want to make sure I keep my promise.

So here I am, blogging about my trip to New Orleans.

I have to learned to pack wisely, I always over pack stuff. This time I checked in a big luggage and 2 carry ons.

Hi, New Orleans. So Day One was basically just spending time in the airport, in the flight and checking- in and settling down. The first thing I did as we landed in New Orleans, I took out my phone and checked the weather. Surprisingly, it was quite cold around, 8-10 Celsius during the day. I didn’t bring any winter coats, not even a jacket that could keep me warm. Well, at least it was sunny.

I was quite satisfied with my hotel room and service. It wasn’t far away from everything, in fact it was right in the heart of the French Quarter.

After changing into something warm, we headed down to the main party street. It was already full of people walking around with drinks in their hands.

Beads were all over the place when we got there.

I was freezing while walking down the street, the wind was quite strong and chilly.

We headed to the French Market to have lunch.

After an hour of waiting, our food was finally here. Their famous fried chicken and gumbo. It was the best fried chicken I have ever had, juicy and crispy. Southern people love fried food, thats why they have the best fried chicken =D

After lunch, we went to take a walk around the market.

They were selling all kinds of mask, they weren’t cheap. The cheapest one was around 90 usd, thought I could get one as souvenir.

Then we headed back to Bourbon street for more beads!

Some bar decorate their balcony to attract more people.

All the balconies were full of people, and they were those who were giving out free beads!

You can try to asking for beads by doing what I’m doing in this picture, or you can do something more fun… such as showing your tits. If you’re asking for beads from guys, they will normally ask you to show them ur boobs. If you’re too shy to do so you can try asking for beads from ladies. I’m talking about aunties here not girls because girls will normally ask you to flash too.

It took me one whole day to learn how to catch a strand of beads without hurting my thumb.

After 20 minutes of beads hunting.

40 minutes…

The end of the day… *proud*

Next time if you’re planning to go over to New Orleans for Mardi gras, make sure you learn how to hold a girl up on your shoulders or sit on the shoulders of your man for more BEADS beforehand.

We ended the day watching the parade, and catching beads, and freezing ourselves.
