Trip of Wonders – Makassar

A couple of months ago I was invited by The Ministry of Tourism of Indonesia to explore a few destinations in Indonesia. It was a 11 day trip and I have never been on a trip longer than 7 days so I had a hard time on choosing outfits and packing. The first stop of the trip was Makassar and we spent 3 days 2 nights there. We visited places like Bantimurung Waterfall, Fort Rotterdam, Kodingareng Keke Island and Losari Beach. I have never been to any of the places before so I have no idea what to expect but to look at Google images.

On the first day, we took the earliest flight from Jakarta to Makassar and we went straight to the famous Bantimurung Waterfall. Bantimurung Waterfall is located 1 hour and 30 minutes away from Makassar Airport. The plan was to visit the waterfall then have picnic lunch at the waterfall too. A friendly reminder for those who are visiting, remember to bring along a light meal if u plan to stay there for a while because there is no restaurants in that area and the only food you can get is cup noodles and simple hot drinks like Milo or 3-in-1 coffee.

The waterfall was visited by a lot of locals probably because it was a weekend. The waterfall is HUGE. There are float rentals for you to swim in the water or you can even slide down from the the top of the waterfall into the pool.

After dinner the 3 of us decided to head out for a few drinks before calling a day. Googled where is the nearest cafe or bar and found one!

Day 2 in Makassar, we visited Kodingareng Keke Island for snorkeling! The island is an hour away by boat from Kayu Bangkoa Port. I was so happy that I finally get to work on my tan!

This is what we did the entire hour on the boat hahaha. The sea was so calm so we had the opportunity to take pictures sitting at the front of the boat!

Good thing about travelling with girl friends is that you can take thousands of picture at the same spot but no one will complain hahahah.
