24 Hours in VIE Hotel Bangkok, MGallery by Sofitel Bangkok

Hi all, remember 1 month ago I went to Bangkok with Wei Zhi of Kampungboycitygal.com, and we created our own #BoCg24hoursinBangkok on Instagram? If u’re on Instagram please check out our pictures as some of them were taken using pillows as a tripod, hahaha.

Anyway, back to my 24 hours in Bangkok. The main reason of my trip to Bangkok was to go pray and I didn’t want to go alone because I’m not a good solo traveller. I asked Jo to go with me but he gave me an “are u crazy” look because we had no one to take care of baby boy so Jo had to stay home. After I got turned down by JO I instantly tot of Wei Zhi, my travel partner in crime haha. We had traveled to a few countries before and I really like her company =). So I asked Wei Zhi and she said YES! I was like OK on liao! So we booked our tickets with AA but we faced a little problem while doing research on hotels because we have a few requirements for hotels in BKK. We only had 24 hours to spare so we cant afford to stay in places that is far away from Siam. We are both are very particular with the cleanliness of the hotel room, and we dont want something that is too small and crowded. While we were doing our research, the PR from VIE Hotel contacted us, talk about timing huh.

Both of us have stayed in VIE Hotel before and both of us LOVED it a lot. VIE Hotel is located right at the heart of Bangkok and short walk to Siam Paragon, Siam Center or Pratunam. The nearest BTS station is Ratchathewi which is right in front of the hotel lobby!

DSC00226

If you’re too lazy to walk around VIE Hotel provides FREE complimentary tuk tuk rides from 9am to 7pm daily, from hotel to the malls nearby such as Siam Paragon, Siam Central, Central World or MBK.

This is my second time staying in Vie Hotel and I realized I havent really blogged about it yet! The last time I stayed here was last year with my family on our yearly family trip! My parents fell in love with this hotel instantly! The moment we arrived at the hotel, they served us welcome drinks and hot towel while they proceeded with our check in.

DSC00213

We were upgraded to a Deluxe Suite which is located on the higher floors with a huge living space. It was huge for the two of us hahaha, we can literally host a party there in the living room! We were greeted with some dessert and fruits.

DSC00222

Look at the sofa area T__T Each of us can take up one sofa each le hahah.

DSC00221

The study area is also separated from the living and bedroom.

DSC00216

Our bed for the night!

DSC00300

Every little detail was well taken care of.

DSC00302

I love it when the hotel provides complimentary bottled water for their guests, it’s like bonus points!

DSC00220

They provide 2 TVs in deluxe suite, one in the living area and also bedroom.

DSC00218

The bathroom comes with separated bathtub, shower and toilet so we dont have to wait for each other to use the toilet or shower.

DSC00224

We didnt bother to buy check in luggage so these toiletries that VIE Hotel provided were perfect for us!

DSC00299

They also provide complimentary coffee in our room =)

DSC00231

Right after we checked in and changed into more airy outfits, we headed out to Siam Square for lunch! Thanks Wei Zhi for the company =)

DSC00242

For our lunch we had Som Tom Nua, one of my favorite restaurants in Bangkok!

DSC00245

YY, my blog manager was there for her regional meeting so we met up and had lunch together =)

DSC00251 DSC00262

Then after that we went to Audrey for dessert, it was highly recommended by Wei Zhi so we went to give it a try! Their Thai milk tea crepe cake was the bomb, it wasnt too sweet and the Thai milk tea flavor is very strong and nice!

DSC00291

After chitchatting and all, we rushed to Erawan shrine to pray before it started raining. Thank you for the amazing 2015 and I’m looking forward to what you have for me in 2016.

DSC00303After praying, we rushed back to the hotel because we got ourselves a spa appointment at 6.30pm! VIE Spa is located at level 10 which is same floor as the swimming and fitness area.

DSC00315

I have never done any body massage in a hotel in Bangkok before because I dont have time to go for spa haha. This time is different because my other purpose of this trip is to relax so a spa session is a must.

DSC00305

Once we entered the spa, we were asked to choose which rub we preferred for our body scrub.

DSC00311

Both Wei Zhi and I went for green tea. We booked VIE Swedish Massage for 90 min which was around 2700++ THB

They arranged us to be in the same room so we can talk haha.

DSC00321

Before we started our spa session, we took a selfie first haha

DSC00324

As usual, the massage started with foot massage then body scrub and then full body oil massage. I totally forgot how good it feels to go for a massage after a long tiring day of travelling and walking. I dont really go for spa when Jo is around cox he doesn’t enjoy it. It feels so great to do it together with girl friends. I was telling Wei Zhi, we should totally do this more often.

DSC00328

After 90 min of relaxing, I feel so energized! After our session, they served us a cup of hot ginger tea to warm our tummies as well!

DSC00329 DSC00330

After the spa, we also visited VIE Fit which is located right next to Vie Spa! I have never been to a hotel gym that is so fully equipped! I quickly took a picture with my phone and showed it to Jo. If only the gym in our condo is like this man!

DSC00333dWe also visited their signature VIE Pool! I have seen it in the pictures but not in person hahhaa. It’s so beautiful and Instagram worthy, I wished I could stay longer there so that I can enjoy all the facilities!

DSC00363

After the relaxing spa session, we went to YTSB-Yellow Tail Sushi Bar for dinner! I have always a been a fan of Japanese food so when I heard that I will be dining in YTSB I was pretty excited because the last when I was in Vie I didn’t get a chance to try it out. I’m so glad that I get to try it this time together with my foodie friend, Citygal.

Let me introduce you, Chef “Chet” Chettha Intarawong who has been passionately involved with Japanese cuisine for over 20 years! One of his signature dishes is called Rossini, which uses top grade melt-in-your-mouth Kaisakaya Wagyu Beef Sirloin, Teriyaki Foie Gras, and White Truffle Miso Sauce Maki. The rich teriyaki sauce is made by the chef himself and blends exquisitely with the foie gras. City gal and I both had the honor to try this dish too!

DSC00335 DSC00337

Once we were seated at our table we were given a chance to choose our own chopsticks! Guess which did I choose?

DSC00341

Hehhe, I chose the bamboo sticks and Citygal chose the same ones too!!

DSC00344

Look at this beautiful creation called Sakura Sashimi. A bowl of the freshest sashimi all chosen by the Chef personally.

DSC00350

Yellow Spy, it’s a must order because one of the main ingredients of this dish is mango and mango in BKK is super sweet and juicy!

DSC00352

Teriyaki foie gras sushi was so damn good!!! Look at how big is the foie gras is, it completely covered up the rice haha.

DSC00353Rossini, Chef “Chet” Chettha’s signature dish! This sushi roll’s ingredients include Kaisakaya Wagyu Beef Sirloin, teriyaki foie gras, and white truffle miso sauce =P So good!!!!

DSC00358

Aburi Sushi which included blue fin tuna, scallop, and yellow tail.

DSC00367

Thanks Vie Hotel and Chef Chef “Chet” for the warm hospitality and such high quality sushi.

DSC00382After filling up our tummy with so so much delicious food, we went back to the hotel room to rest =)

DSC00399

The next day, it was time for us to head home but before that we decided to check out Pratunam market before heading to the airport! Dont you just love the city view in Bangkok!

DSC00410

Managed to squeeze in some time for some shots in the room hahaha
DSC00417We are going to conquer the market later!!!!!!!

DSC00434

It was my first time visiting Pratunam market and I’m really impressed!!! Thanks Citygal for showing me this shopping heaven on earth!! I feel so stupid to spend so much in Siam Square for a exact some piece now. Most of the pieces you can get for around 350baht, and it will be better if you come with friends because wholesale prices will be way cheaper!!

So sad, we only had 2 hours at the market =( I promised myself I will definitely come back for more!
