Facial Date With DRx

Im not very sure how I should start this post as I have zero experience on facials. To be honest with you, I have never done any facials before. I know facials are a must for most girls but I’m super paranoid when it comes to my face hahaha. I dont really trust anyone to touch my face. My sister has been telling me I should really start doing facials to at least clean my face properly because I apply makeup most of the time hahaha.

So one day, Audrey shared her facial experience with DRx to me.  And so I decided to get to know DRx, along with their services. I thought about it for a while and decided to give it a try. I did some research on DRx and also read Audrey’s post about her own experience with them, I thought it was pretty cool and I would finally get to know what type of skin I have ==”

DRx is originally from Singapore and they have grown their business to KL. Their KL branch is located in Plaza Damas, Sri Hartamas and its super easy to find! Since this is my first facial experience, I shall share my experience with you guys and what did I think about it.

When I first walked into the clinic I felt like I was in a hospital because everything was all white in color. It gave me a very cozy and professional feel. I then proceed to fill up a registration form and a questionnaire.  They even ask questions to make sure that I was not allergic to anything or any medication so that the doctor can better prescribe any treatment. This really assured me that I will be in good hands.

1

Then they led me to a room to remove my makeup =) I nearly fell asleep while they were removing my makeup cause it was so relaxing and comfy. Katherine (one of the professional Therapist) told me it’s really important to remove our makeup step by step and make sure it’s really clean and well removed. It will ruin our skin if improperly removed and that’s when you get acne and all

2

Once they were done cleaning and removing my make up, I was led to this super cute room/ cubicle to start my little “photoshoot” session of my naked face.

3

They started off by using a DSLR with an attached ring flash (Yea, a professional camera just to take pictures of our face hahaa). They took 3 shots of my face from the front and both sides, and also kept them for record so we can see the differences from before to after.

4

Then we moved to another station for more detailed face shots using this super high tech machine, maybe some of you have seen it before but not me ==”

5

So this machine basically shows/exposes every little detail of your face. How much acne or potential acnes on your face, UV burns, red spots, brown spots, wrinkles and etc… Thank god, my skin is pretty good because the only problem I had was red spots and also potential acne. Then Katherine told me that I have dry (outside) and oily (inside) skin, and that I shouldn’t use cream based moisturizers because it will make it worse ==” I have been using cream moisturizers because I have been told by someone that I have very dry skin and creams are good for me. This is the difference between a professional and salesgirl.

6

After the “photoshoot”, I was brought into Dr Jason’s office! He asked about my concerns and started telling me how to solve my problems. He says the minute I walked in he could clearly see my uneven skin tone and also blackheads but it can be cured hahaha. Dr Jason prescribed me with skincare that are suitable to my skin and asked me to come back for a 2nd consultation after a month.

7

Katharine taught me how to use the products because it has to be applied step by step from a cleanser, toner, and then ending with sunblock!

8

There is even a huge mirror for you to touch up your make up after the session or camwhore!

9

These are the skincare that I’m currently using; to be honest I can see a slight change in my face. My skin is now brighter and more moisturized. Before using the set of Derma-Rx skincare, my cleanser always gave me a very dry and irritating feel after I clean my face and I always thought it was normal because dry means clean == but it’s not! The cleanser is too strong for me and it dry up my skin very quickly!! I have been using Derma-Rx skincare for around 2 weeks now and so far I can see a little difference on my face. One thing I like about the Derma-Rx skincare is that its absorbed super fast so I don’t have to use my hands to fan my face after applying it! After I applied everything on my face it wont give me an oily feeling.

Well, I will be heading back to The DRx Clinic for my consultation in 2 weeks time and I’m looking forward to it. I will definitely share my next experience with you guys after my next visit!! =)
