Every year, Petronas produces amazing TVCs that manages to touch everyone’s heart. The most memorable one for me was one from a few years ago, where a few grandmas were boasting about their sons or daughters while having lunch at an old folks home. One says that her son was a surgeon in UK then another was a successful businessman owns a few companies all over the world. Then the last grandma said that her son is coming to pick her up to go home. All the grandmas were so jealous at her because she gets to reunite with her son on Chinese New Year.

This TVC touches my heart every time I watch it. It delivers a touching message that we can all relate to.

This year I was happy that I get to watch their Chinese New Year 2014 TVC a day before everyone else!

I was super curious at what kind of storyline and message that PETRONAS will be relaying to us this time!

 The PETRONAS CNY TVC launch was held in Delicious at Dua Residency! There is no dress code at the launch but most of them were dressed in Cheong sam or red hehehe.

 Jessica was invited to the launch too! It’s always fun to meet up with bloggers that I know hehe

 My twin was also there too hahaha. When I first heard that Aud will be going too I was like “Aud, this is our first event together le!!!” *with a lot of heartssss hahaha

 The launch started with a short speech from Liz Kamaruddin, Senior General Manager of Strategic Communication Division, PETRONAS

I wore my one and only “CNY mood” dress in my closet hahahhaa.

Ok, on to the new TVC. Let me share some background of the TVC, “Young Hearts” before you click play hehe..

“Young Hearts” is a great narrative to inspire us to hold true to our values, appreciate our rich culture and the importance of family ties. Through this film, we hope to convey a story that reminds us all to look at life with the same youthful enthusiasm and a sense of hope as when we were young,” said Norliza. 

I will not keep you guys waiting so let’s watch it together!

While I was watching, I got a little bit teary eyed because it’s so touching when the grandparents were finally back home for reunion dinner! Everyone was so worried about them because they were late.

I took a few screenshots to share with you guys while watching it for the fifth time! Hahaha

 I love the retro cycle and the view a lot! Hehe it reminds me a lot of my hometown and my grandparents used to cycle around in a similar looking bicycle!!

I believe those who are in their late 20s onwards should understand the main point in this screenshot! Yes, it’s the comic book that the girl is reading!! Hehe I remember I used to collect every issue of this comic and it was one of my favorites! You can hardly see it now lol.

 Simple, but beautiful and sweet…

 Finally, the reunion dinner… I can relate to this the most because I miss having reunion dinner with my family now that I’m married. I have to spend CNY with my husband’s family and only go home on the second day.

Sorry if I make you tear up on a festive season hahaha….

During the launch we also got a chance to meet the cast!!

Once again, thanks PETRONAS for inviting me to the launch of the TVC and gave me a change to be one of the firsts to enjoy the meaningful commercial.
