I was this close – to not blogging about my Beijing trip till I saw how boring is my blog is. It’s filled with LOTDs and wedding posts only ==” No more travel posts meh?? So I decided to edit all the pictures and blog about my Beijing trip!
Remember few months ago I went to Beijing for a safety exhibition? It was for work ok, so it’s considered as a business trip… ahemmmm
Then remember or not after my Guang Zhou trip I swear that I wont go back to China anymore but the day I got back from Guang Zhou my dad was like I need you to go Beijing in Sept for this exhibition. So there goes my swear… Lesson learned NEVER ever swear ok.
So, instead of me going to Beijing alone (I will never do it) I asked my sister, my partner in crime, to come with me! I invited my elder sister too but she said NO! They say Beijing is way better than Guang Zhou as in the city is cleaner, the ppl there is more civilized and more things to see… OK la, I admit the city is cleaner and all but the ppl there is still … you get what I mean.
So we were quite lucky, we managed to book the cheapest air fare to Beijing with MAS. A lot of ppl say that MAS sucks but to me it was ok. Maybe because I travel too much with AA edi, so my expectations are much lower ==” There are a few things I like about MAS and they even gave us pillows and blankets.
Our very own TV with a lot of latest movies, tv shows, and games…
Then free food with Toblerone chocolate bar! Ok, Im starting to sound very aunty… Ok la, AA got also la just tat you need to pay =) I will still travel with AA because I cant afford to travel around by MAS, low cost airlines are still a necessity!
We arrived in Beijing around midnight, and we were super brave ’cause we just hopped into a random taxi and asked him to bring us back to our hotel without any hesitation. We checked into Chang Bai San Hotel and it’s super clean and nice!
The toilet is quite nice…. I was so afraid that our hotel is going to be very old and dirty, I have been to a few hotels in China that gave me a very very deep impression about how a hotel room can be so dirty…
The next morning, we woke up pretty early and went straight to the exhibition. That’s handsome gin and I =)
After a few hours walking around the exhibiton, Gin suggested a good steamboat place called “Hai Di Lao”
Hai Di Lao is the cleanest, best service and delicious steamboat restaurant that I have ever been to.
They provide a variety of sauces and appetizers for us and it’s free refill!
The waitress even offered to help us take a picture ok!!
Our personal dipping sauce that Gin did hahhaa
The waitress found out that we are not local, so she insisted that we try their home made noodles for free, so we did. This chef came out from the kitchen and danced with the noodle hahahaha.
Then we found out they sell sealed packets for soup too!
After lunch, we went to Wang Fu Jing to have a look at thier old street.
Saw edible seahorses and scorpions….
All the stalls there sells the exact same things! You wont miss anything if you dont buy it at the first store because you will surely find it again in another store with a cheaper price… Super competitive haha
It was around 8pm and we decided to head back to our hotel to enjoy a hot shower and lie in bed and do nothing.
Seriously, I’m not sure why a lot of people love to go Beijing, there is nothing much to do besides eating steamboat and duck ==”
We went back to the hotel, watched a random TV channel then fell asleep at around 10.30pm.
Tha’s how we spent our first night in Beijing, like some old folks hahaha
To be continued…
