  • #BoboRenovates – My Eubiq Home

    Sponsored Post

Remember a few weeks back I mentioned in my Dayre post that Eubiq were at my house advising us on how and where to mount their power tracks? Well, they were finally ready to install and you can’t imagine how excited we were! The installers from Eubiq came over last Saturday, and all in, installation took about two and a half hours! I’m going to tell how guys about the whole process!

But first, if you have not heard of Eubiq, they were established in 2000 and developed their patented GSS System that allows you to add, remove, and reposition power outlets anywhere along a power track.

    1

This revolutionary GSS System grounds all conductive subjects, and it is near impossible for hazardous shocks to the user as no two wires are in contact at any time.

    2 IMG_2465

You can read more about their products and applications here, and I will continue with the installation process!

We would be installing Eubiq power tracks at our kitchen, TV console, study table, make-up table, and also on both sides of our bed. All measurements were taken during the consultation and the tracks are then fabricated and pre-cut to make installation quick and simple.

    IMG_2447

All the tracks are properly marked to show their length and positioning.

    IMG_2455

    IMG_2446

In addition to power tracks, we also got two types of power adaptors, the Premium ITL3 Adaptor, and Premium BS3 Adaptor. These have a shiny chrome ring and a nice finish on the face! So cool!

    IMG_2445

Here I am, “supervising”, hahaha. Actually I was just being ‘kepoh’ and disturbing the installers to keep taking pictures.

    IMG_2448

Since our house was already fully renovated before we engaged Eubiq, we were limited in terms of placement and also the ability to recess their power tracks in our existing walls and furniture. First of all, at my make-up table, they removed the existing power socket, and then hooked up all the wires to the power track. Then they drilled and mounted the power track to the wall and, as simple as that, they were done!

    IMG_2454

You seriously cannot imagine how happy I am right now cause I no longer have to go hunt for extensions or additional adaptors so I can use multiple styling tools at the same time!!!

    IMG_2449

Up next it was time to get rid of this ugly looking mess at my bedside.

    IMG_2456

The installation process was similarly quick and my bedside now looks much, much, more high-tech and premium, not to mention clutter free as I can get rid of the ugly extension plug!

    IMG_2444

Next it was time to get rid of another big mess at my study table. This time they decided the best way to mount the power track was just to mount it on my table top, sparing my brick wall from a lot of drilling. Again, if we engaged Eubiq before our renovations started, we would have mounted the power tracks into the wall!

    IMG_2459

This is a much neater solution and now I can plug in my camera charger, phone charger, and etc without having to kneel down and knock my head on my table every time!

    3

If you plan your workstation early, you can even install USB and HDMI outlets into the track, and then use it as a hub to connect to your computer or TV! This way you can just plug in stuff to the track instead of digging behind your computer hunting for the damned USB ports!

    IMG_2443

Next up, it was time to install the power track for our TV console and similar to our study table, we went for the easier option to install the track on top of the console instead of in the wall. Usually when I need to plug in my air purifier or chargers, we need to open up the console and then plug things into an extension plug.

    IMG_2460

    IMG_2461

Now we can just plug in whatever we want right on top of our console instead of opening the front and have all the wires hanging in front of it. Like I mentioned earlier, you can customize your power track to have all your TV connections built into the track itself as well.

    IMG_2442

Last of all it was time to tackle our kitchen power outlets. This is a bit more time consuming as compared to the rest because we needed to integrate two light switches and a switch for our induction cooker and hood each, right into the power track as well!

    IMG_2450

First they removed all the existing switches and drilled mounting holes for the power track.

    IMG_2452

There was a small issue cause the wall and paint was a bit softer than they anticipated and a piece cracked off after they drilled the hole. Not a big deal as I quickly made a call to my trusted painter Ah Leong and he arranged to come touch it up for us! If you noticed , this power adaptor is also slight different as it has a power cord built in, where I can replace my long and ugly cord that came with my rice cooker not to mentioned save a power adaptor to use elsewhere!!!

    IMG_2453

The end results! Fitment was excellent and now all my switches are  smaller so I have more track to use. The Eubiq power tracks support up to 30 amps so no worries on tripping fuses when using multiple appliances at once! This power track also comes with accessories such as a towel or tissue rack and hooks to hang stuff to! Super awesome for aunties like me!

    IMG_2458

Last weekend I also removed the Eubiq power track from my study to use it here when I was filming my cooking show as they are so pretty and looks much better than regular extensions!

    IMG_2451 IMG_2466

Special thanks to Eubiq and their team of professional installers which made everything quick and easy! • Rakuten Shopping Hacks

    Sponsored Post

Today’s post will be another #BoboTip for my readers, hahaha. Does everyone shop through the popular site, Rakuten Online Shopping? If you don’t, or have not heard of Rakuten Online Shopping, let me briefly intro you a bit on Rakuten.

    1

Rakuten launched in Malaysia way back in November 2012, and currently carries over 210,000 goods from over 900 vendors. These vendors include popular household names like large electrical appliance chains and even leading pharmacies! Besides that, Rakuten also caters to a diverse mix of categories such as fashion, accessories, health and beauty, electronics, toys, games, furniture, books, sports, and everything you can think of. By the amount of time I’ve spent on this site, I really think their global tagline of “Shopping is Entertainment” really applies to me, hahahaha.

Anyway, today I’m going to teach you guys how some #RakutenShoppingHacks and I’ll show you step by step on how to get the best deal possible on something that I recently bought.

The most important aspect of this “hack” is to understand and fully utilize their Super Points system to your advantage! Obviously the first step is to sign up for a free account to start accumulating Super Points. Do keep in mind that 1 Super Point = RM1 that you may use towards your next purchase!

Right now, Rakuten is having their 5x Rakuten Super Point programme, and you get 5x the amount of points as per normal (5% points rebate instead of 1%)!

OK, so the item I’m buying is a Samsung Note 5 for Jo, who wants to replace his 2-year old phone. I found a good deal from this popular vendor.

    2

Notice that during the 5x Rakuten Super Points programme (5% rebate on purchase price), I will earn 134.95 Points (instead of the usual 1% rebate on purchase price; 26.99 Points).

In addition to this, Rakuten gives out free vouchers EVERY WEEKEND! How awesome is that!

    3

If you are not making purchases on weekends, also keep in mind that Mastercard holders enjoy an additional 5% discount every WEDNESDAY! So, if your 5% discount amounts to more than the RM5 coupon they are offering this weekend, buy on Wednesday using a Mastercard! So for my purchase, using a Mastercard to purchase on Wednesday would saved me RM134.95, much more compared to the RM5 weekend voucher!

So now I’ve purchased the phone and earned 134.95 Super Points, I’m going to buy a phone case and I do not intend to spend any money on it!!! Hahaha.

OK, notice on their front page that says Grand Opening? Yes, new stores that have recently joined Rakuten Online Shopping offers discounts up to 50% off!

    4

I just happened to find a new vendor selling consumer electronics and accessories, so, perfect for me!

    5

This vendor is offering a 10% discount on all items, so, my next combination is:

Grand Opening Sale code (10% discount) + 134.95 Super Points

I got an original Samsung phone case for FREE!

Imagine the possibilities and hacks you can come up with to get the best deals possible! If you are furnishing a new house, this will be perfect for you, remember to buy the most expensive items first for example a refrigerator or LED TV, then use the 5x Super Points programme to earn points to buy cheaper items such as blenders or kettles for close to nothing!

Also, remember to sign up for Rakuten newsletters to receive all the latest sale and seasonal campaign information. This way you won’t miss out on specials and weekend vouchers that you can use towards your #RakutenShoppingHacks!

Please share with me and other fellow readers your best #RakutenShoppingHacks so we can all shop wisely!

    Have fun shopping, everyone!

  • TITAN WATCH

    Sponsored Post

So today as I was rushing from work to an event, I was talking to Jo about how busy we’ve been lately. If you’ve been following me on social media lately, you should know I was in charge of planning my sister’s wedding and décor, all while working full time and also attending events and blogging!

I know I’ve been updating my blog less frequently these days, but time management is one of my weaknesses! Sometimes I’m jealous of full-time bloggers as they seem to have so much time to constantly update their social media and attend events. I really did consider doing this full-time, but in the end I always tell myself I need a stable paycheck, hahaha. #auntylife

Anyways, recently I’ve learned a lot about managing my time properly, and arranging tasks to complete in a timely manner. One thing I realized, which plays a very big role in helping me keep track of my time and schedule, is a good watch.

To me, a good watch has to be many things, not just a piece of equipment that tells the time. A good watch has to be like a good assistant, it must perform many tasks for me! Not only does it have to tell time accurately, it has to be incorporated into my look of the day. It has to be the perfect accessory or even a statement piece to complete my look.

A few days ago, I was invited to attend the Titan Watch Moonlight collection launch the other day at Svago KLCC. I think god always listens to my prayers, just when I’m asking for a new watch I received an invitation from Titan Watch!

Let me share a bit of the background of Titan watch before I share some pictures that I took at the event.

Established in 1984, Titan Company Ltd. part of the TATA Group, is a USD $1.8 billion listed company, manufacturing more than 13 million watches every year. They are also the world’s 5th largest watch maker, with 135 million customers and counting, and also make the EDGE, the slimmest watch in the universe. Present in 32 countries so far, they are ranked 31st in the global luxury goods ranking.

They are also the 5th largest watch maker in the world; and we are privilege to have them distributed in Malaysia via Chronosoft Sdn Bhd.

    IMG_2144

I got there before everyone so I got to take my own sweet time taking pictures of the venue and of course, the beautiful watches. “Titan Moonlight collection is inspired by the beauty of shimmering moonlight and it’s the perfect symbol of elegance and sensuality. It is designed to accentuate and enhance the aura of the Raga woman.”

    IMG_2145

Mystic Luna. This timepiece captures the aura of the moon surrounded by floating clouds.

    IMG_2146

Crescent  Moon. It takes different forms of the slim silhouettes of the budding moon.

IMG_2148My favorite piece in the whole collection, Moon Lake.

    IMG_2162

Another timepiece that I really like but it’s from the winter collection.

    IMG_2147

The food that was served at the event was very good to my surprise. I kept going back to the buffet table to grab more fried chicken haha.

    IMG_2161

My buffet partner of the day was Huai Bin from Sixthseal!

    IMG_2158

Pretty Sabrina who won ‘Best Dressed’ at the event!

    IMG_2156

My blog manager, Sam, was there with us too!

    IMG_2154

Models showing the latest watches! Love all their gowns and the watches are paired to the gowns perfectly!

    IMG_2150

IMG_2157Group picture before the event came to an end =)

    IMG_2159 IMG_2153

Thanks Titan for having us there and thanks for the lovely watch.

    IMG_2149

Instantly put in on once I received it hahaha. I always wanted a silver watch because it’s easier to match my outfits and it’s perfect for any occasion =)

  • Selamat Datang Ke SHELL

    Sponsored Post

Would you consider yourself to be a morning person? Haha, I won’t lie, I am probably the grumpiest in the mornings, and Jo is well aware of this. He has probably learned the hard way over the years, but you can’t blame me right? Why is the alarm so annoying? Why is the sun so bright? Why is the tap so cold? Hahaha, there are literally a thousand things that can irritate me in the morning.

When I was still working in a media company a few years back, I hated waking up super early in the morning to drive to work because my office was located in Pusat Bandar Damansara and I lived in Puchong! It would be a super long commute, at least 45 mins to an hour, cause of the rush hour jams and knowing that it would be a super long day ahead (those of you working in a media company or accounting firm would know…) it just becomes unbearable sometimes.

I have my “go-to” place for a little pick me up in the mornings, and it is not a place most of you would expect. Not any fancy hip cafes or brunch spots certainly, but a Shell petrol station. Specifically the Shell station at the Awan Besar rest area heading towards KL!

This was “my” Shell station, as I would stop by most mornings for petrol, a quick beverage, and the requisite butter croissant! The staff would always greet me as if they have known me all my life and my grumpiness would be forgotten. The selection at the Deli2Go is always impressive and I’d always have trouble picking from one of their fresh pastries!

    shell

A little treat and the warmth from the staff never fail to pick me up in the mornings and take my mind off the traffic and busy day ahead!

Now that I’m no longer working there and commuting this route daily, I kinda miss my morning stops at my Shell station but it is nice to know that this warmth and this service is not isolated to one station only.

Shell has embarked on a three year transformation programme, “Welcome to Shell”, aimed at achieving high standards in hospitality and customer service at all Shell stations. How about you? Do share with me your personal or memorable #StationStories.

  • My 2015

Waw, I cant believe 2015 is coming to an end in a blink of an eye! I’m not sure if it’s just me or time moves slowly when we were kids but it moves like a rocket when we are adults. I remember when I was young I kept telling myself please grow up faster because. Right now, I’m all grown up and married, I would prefer that my time move slower hahaha

Usually most people like to blog about their new year resolutions but I think I prefer to look back in time and see what I have achieved in 2015.

    Lets begin, shall we?

UntitledA screenshot of the photos taken using my iPhone in 2015! As you can see, I cant list out everything that happened in my 2015 in 1 post so I shall just mention some highlights.

IMG_2116Those who have been following me should know that my resolution for 2014 was to pick up fitness and get as toned as I can. Surprisingly, i always thought getting lean is one of the hardest new year resolutions but I did it! I can proudly say that I’m more fit and healthier than in 2014. I have been going to the gym non-stop and keep pushing myself harder each day. I’m so glad that I did because I’m more confident and happy now.

    IMG_2122

We also moved into our new place in 2015! It was like a dream because I have been waiting for this day to come since 3 years ago. Sometimes when I’m home sitting on the sofa chilling I think to myself I still cant believe we finally get our own living room, own kitchen and most of all our own private space.

The whole renovation process was pretty fun and exciting for us because we came out with the whole idea and concept of our house by ourselves. We are so glad that we decided to do it ourselves instead as we learned so much throughout the process. I learned that things dont come together easily, and we need a lot of effort and patience. We starting moving in when our house was pretty empty, we didn’t have enough storage, no pretty rugs or deco to cozy up the whole house but we told ourselves, slowly but surely! With a limited budget we tried to get whatever we needed first then leave the “wants” aside. Each month we slowly brought more pieces home, like Lego, one at a time so that we dont overspend =)

Thanks to those who made it happen, you know who you are =)

    IMG_2124

In 2015, I also get to cook more often because I get my own kitchen =) My favorite thing to do now is to plan what to cook for our dinner. I enjoy going to the grocery or market with Jo to get ingredients and all. A few people ask me “why do u enjoy cooking so much?” I dont know le I just love it. Besides that I also manage to influence Jo to cook =) so sometimes I get to goyang kaki and watch Game of Thrones while he is cooking! #perfectplan.

By the way, Im working on a project (Vlog) for 2016 where cooking will be involved so please let me know what sort of recipes you would like me to share with you guys! I’ll be more than happy to share it with u guys!

    IMG_2121

My beloved sister finally got married, and the reason why I say finally is because they signed the papers 2 years ago and kept delaying the wedding ==” My parents were like pls get it done and over with hahahaha. So they chose their dates and my sister was like ” Bobo u will be incharge of the wedding decoration!” I was super excited about it because I always wanted to experience how is it like to be a wedding planner! Thanks to my sister I got a good opportunity to do it. What i did was i asked for her fav color and Pinterest the shit out of every thing, from the table center piece to dessert table. I had lots of fun planning it and I cant believe that everything turned out to be perfect! The wedding was a success and it was like a dream for her =) I also learnt that it’s not easy to work as a wedding planner, it’s super tiring and exhausting especially when u have to do the deco and labor work yourselves T_T.

IMG_2114In 2015, I also got the opportunity to explore more countries that I have never been to such as Australia and Bali (Indonesia)! I also got to revisit places that I have been to like Phuket, Taiwan and Bangkok! I went to Queensland, Aus together with Citygal for #Escapers2015 and we won 3rd place! The prize was complimentary stay at Sofitel Bali so we brought along the boys with us as a couples trip! It was super fun and relaxing because all we did was stay in the resort and get tanned.

For my 30th birthday, we planned a mini getaway to Phuket just the two of us and we stayed in a gorgeous 1 bedroom villa at Pullman. It was the most relaxing and awesome getaway ever, all we did was eat, sleep and get tanned as well hehe.

Now that i have listed them out, I’m reminded on how lucky I am to be able to travel to so many countries in 2015. I’m so thankful for all the opportunities and sponsors =). I wish that I get to travel to more countries in 2016 together with Jo.

    IMG_2123

In 2015, I met a lot of amazing people especially my fellow Taitais, and it started off with just the 3 of us but now we have 5! We call ourselves #Competitiveaunties because we are but in a good way la. The first outing with the aunties was fun and filled with laughter! Whenever we are out for dinner we just wont stop talking until we realize it’s too late then we will go ahead and plan our next gathering and it goes on and on. It’s always good to have a group of people who are in the same stage of life and everyone gets to share their stories. Our 2016 plan is to plan a getaway with the aunties! Beware ah because aunties out to play and u know how wild they are lol.

That pretty much sums up my 2015 and I’m looking forward to see what 2016 can offer!

Happy New Year everyone, may 2016 give you more wealth and good health!
