PEDIGREE DENTASTIX – Sit & Shake

I’m sure many of you have noticed that I always mention my babyboy or furryboy in my social media updates and I’ve even received many questions regarding my dog. I just realized that I’ve never really properly introduced him before so this post is going to focus on my little boy!

Here he is, his name is Nacho but we usually call him by his other nicknames such as “bee” or “B-boy” or “bambi” which are all short for babyboy. He officially turned 9 years old this past April and he is a Yorkie-poodle (Yorkiepoo) mix. He started living with us when he was tiny and only 6 months old so it’s been 8 and a half years now! So many wonderful memories, OMG. We got him when we were studying in Michigan, USA, and brought him back to Malaysia a few years ago.

We actually took this pic on his 9^th birthday!

This is his favorite lion-toy which I’ve actually sewed back together. When he was a pup, he used to destroy every new toy we buy him, so thank god he’s settled down now.

Favorite pass-times include lounging on our pillows, sun tanning, and playing.

Not to mention lots of napping too. What to do, my babyboy is actually very old now…

Anyway, it’s been the best 9 years ever and we have a lot of cute and funny memories together, seeing him grow up and also enjoying his companionship throughout all these years!

The main challenges with him are generally related to caring for his health, hair, and also dental health. Being a thick-coated dog, he is very susceptible to skin problems so we have to make sure he’s constantly dry, as well as his ears too.

The hardest part is probably brushing his teeth as he really doesn’t enjoy it at all and usually Jo has to be very strict in controlling him when brushing his teeth.

Recently I’ve noticed more plaque build up in his teeth and fearing that we might need to bring him for scaling, I started looking up for alternative options.

Acer Revo One Hello Kitty Edition

I’m sure most of you already know that I’m a super fan of Hello Kitty, and my love for Hello Kitty has never faded even though I’m now an aunty T_T. Whenever there is a new product that involves Hello Kitty I will try my very best to buy or own it. So, obviously if there is a computer that is in PINK and it’s branded as a Hello Kitty, I have to be the first one to experience it.

I was super happy when I was invited by Acer to attend the launch of Acer Revo One Hello Kitty Edition, and just hearing the name I could basically imagine the pinkness and the cuteness of this little machine! *take all my money!

When there is Hello Kitty you will find Bobo and Audrey, yup we are both crazy fans of cute things. I’m sure you can easily tell right? Lol

The launch was held at Hello Kitty Café in Sunway Pyramid. I have never been to the café and I have no idea what took me so long to visit this cute café!!! When I first stepped into the café everything shouts CUTE and PINK! I was brought to my table that was full of pink technology! My first impression of Revo One Hello Kitty edition was WOW, I need to buy this! Look at the pink bow on the case and the pink colored keyboard and the mouse and the mouse pad!! Where have u been in my life?

The launch started with a welcome speech from Mr Johnson Seet, Head of Products, Acer Sales & Service SDN BHD then we have Mr Jeffrey Lai to show us how this cute little machine works.

So let me share a bit on the spec of Acer Revo One Hello Kitty edition.

Hello Kitty fans have the option of selecting a model running on Intel Core i3 processor (RM2099) or Intel Celeron processor (RM1499) and the corresponding 1TB or 500 GB storage, with upgradable 4GB DDR3L RAM.

This Hello Kitty edition offers the same functionality as any other Acer Revo One so you can use it as a traditional Windows 10 desktop or just hook it up as a media streaming device.

Also, you can turn any Android phone or device into a remote control! When you hook up the Revo One to your screen or TV, you can control it using this app instead of the supplied wireless keyboard and mouse.

So let’s say you are streaming a movie and want to pause to look up some information online, just grab your phone to do it!

Unlimited FREE Video Streaming!!!

Last week I was invited by U Mobile to attend the most orange-y event I have ever been to. I was told that the theme of the day was orange so I wore my best orange outfit that I have. This event was held at Berjaya Time Square Hotel.

When I received the key points of the event I got really excited and I knew everyone would be when you mention unlimited FREE video streaming without using your data quota. I was really excited to see what U Mobile has to offer! To be honest, I’m in the midst of deciding which carrier to switch to because the one I’m using right is quite bad, my 2 GB data quota finishes in 1 week! I can only blame Snapchat for it hahaha.

Anyway let me explain a bit on what U Mobile has in store for everyone before taking you through the event!

As a gym addict, the thing I use most on my smart phone when I’m in the gym is to stream videos online. I always do it when I’m running on the treadmill because it helps to keep me entertained and also make my daily running routine pass much quicker! I love watching music videos or k drama when I’m running so my data also “run” out very fast hahaha. Thank god, U Mobile realized this first world problem so they launched VIDEO-ONZ!

Keeping things simple and straight to the point, VIDEO-ONZ basically offers unlimited video streaming for FREE, yes FREE without using your data quota!! OMG, I cannot believe I just said that!

Each booth had a smartphone that was playing a video throughout the event! FREE streaming 24/7, of course play all the videos!!

I, of course spent most of the time at YouTube booth with free popcorn!

I also bumped into my fav DJ, Ben at the event =)

#JoAndBoCooks – Cold Soba and Grilled Salmon

We eat Japanese food quite often because it’s considered quite healthy and less fattening compared to many other cuisines. The only problem of Japanese cuisine in KL is that it’s pretty costly, if you go to those who are less costly, the serving is either very small or it’s not as fresh. So, I’ve pretty much given up eating in a Japanese restaurant in KL.

However, since I have my own kitchen now, I get to prepare my very own Japanese dishes at home and at a fraction of the cost. Most of the ingredients can be easily found in any grocer!

The ingredients you need for this dish are :

Soba- 1/2 packet (we can do 4 servings in 1 pack, but depends on you)

Soba dipping sauce – 1 cup or bowl per person

Seaweed – a few sheets sliced thinly

Green onion – I prefer lots and lots of green union

Salmon fillet – 1 piece per person

Salad – 1 packet

Salad dressing – any low fat, or non mayonaise based dressing (such as ranch or thousand island) is OK

This dish is pretty simple and fast! All you need to do is to boil the soba. I prefer the texture to be on the firm side, so once you reached the texture you want, rinse with ice cold water!

Lightly season the salmon with a bit of salt and black pepper then pan fry it!

Prepare a bit of salad on the side of the fillet to have a balanced meal. No greens is a big NONO. Jo doesn’t really like salmon so he made his own teriyaki style chicken breast.

Squeeze and put a slice of lemon on the salmon for some acidity.

A bowl of cold soba with a lot of green onion and seaweed!

There you go, a easy, simple, healthy and satisfying dinner. You can even make it in the morning and bring it to the office for lunch! Soba is meant to be eaten cold and you can just heat up your salmon in a microwave but don’t overcook it!
