Panasonic Beauty Cafe

So, last week while everyone was busying attending #KLFWRTW2015, I was busy getting ready to attend Panasonic Beauty Café. I’m sure if you have been following me you should remember I attended a similar event last year together with Audrey and Nana! Im so glad that I received another invitation from Panasonic again this year, it’s always fun to check out new beauty technologies that Panasonic has brought to the market. The event was held at Betjeman & Barton in One Utama Shopping Mall, perfect for ladies and of cox taitais =)

I was there slightly early so I get to take pictures in the photobooth without having to queue! The benefit of arriving early to an event =)

Then I was lead to a table with lots of Panasonic beauty products. I love how they allow us to feel and touch the products so that we can understand them better by playing with it! I will let you guys know which is my favorite hehe.

I still remember I was using Panasonic Warming Facial & Body Roller EH-SP32 the whole time at last year’s event lol. It’s super comfortable because it’s heated, you get to choose between two temperature settings 44c or 48c!

Event started with a welcome speech from Panasonic representative then we have Yves Chong from Number 76 to show us how to style and take good care of our hair by using Panasonic EH-NA65 Nanoe hair dryer! It helps to dry our hair and yet still keep it moisturized at the same time, so you get shinny and smooth hair everyday!

In Your Face

You know how the older generation will tell you why you shouldn’t do anything to you face, because it represents your fortune? If you make changes to it, it might bring you bad luck or misfortune but if you do it accordingly it will help to enhance your life. In the past, I don’t really believe in this, and I thought it was just a myth created by some old folks just like many other Chinese myths.

Well, I think my point of view on this matter has definitely changed after I attended The Sloane Clinic workshop a few weeks ago, which I attended with hot mamas Michiekin and Kimberlycun, and Teycindy in Pavilion Beauty Hall. A little introduction on the clinic before I start sharing what I have learned from the workshop, and I have say, it’s pretty interesting!

The Sloane Clinic is a chain of aesthetic clinic for the skin, face and body and they are also one of the leading aesthetic clinics in Singapore and Malaysia. I was slightly late because I kept thinking the event was at 12pm, only to find out it was at 11am. So I rushed like a mad girl and skipped my breakfast, thank god The Sloane Clinic was sweet enough to prepare breakfast and lunch for us =) I stuffed my face with 5 plates of salads, literally. I don’t know why but the ceaser salad that day was super good!

Thank god I didn’t miss anything because the workshop was pretty interesting! It’s quite rare that I will share information that I learned from workshops to family or friends because most of the time I forget most of them. Surprisngly, for this workshop I remember 70% of them! The reason is pretty simple because I’m old enough to worry about my own fortune and you know when you’re getting older, you tend to worry more than when you’re young! You worry about your life, your career, your kids, your husband and your financial standing. I have to admit I do worry about all sorts of things, so learning about ways to overcome these issues or problems are pretty interesting. Who doesn’t want a better life? That’s when workshops like this comes to the rescue!

The workshop started with Ms Cindy Chew, a professional face reading consultant from Soleil Trinity, teaching us how your face can affect your fortune! As mentioned earlier, our facial features can predict our life’s successes, so small changes in our face can reap big rewards in our personal life, career, marriage, and so on. She also showed us some good examples using well known idols suchs as Amber Chia, Siti Nurhaliza and also Michelle Reis.

After the facial reading, we have Dr Low Chai Ling, founder of The Sloane Clinic sharing tips on how to enhance our beauty with aesthetic treatments!

She also showed us some examples on how some small touches could make you look prettier!

Last but not least, we have Dr Aster Low explaining how to enhance your skin quality by using science.

Let me share some tips and tricks of what I have learned so make sure you have a mirror with you now so that you can check on your face after reading it =). Do you know that the facial features that denote the good fortune are the same one that adds to the face’s aesthetic appeal? Come let’s dissect them one by one.

Your forehead represents your career so the smoother and broader it is, the more smooth-sailing career you have. Flaws on this part may reflect problems in the form of bad health, distressful relationship or money troubles. Forehead lines (frown lines) means that person worries or thinks a lot. Sunken temples on women mean a possible extramarital affair on your husband’s part T___T.

How can we fix it?

Fraxel Light helps to eliminate wrinkles, pigmentation and scars in exchange for a silky smooth skin for your face especially forehead! CLEANSUI (Japan) Healthy Mineral Drinking Water

I’m sure most of you are aware that Jo and I are currently in the middle of renovating our new place, and something important that we have decided very early on our project that was the water filtration and drinking water for our new home.

At our current place, my MIL is using a famous name-brand Reverse Osmosis (RO) water drinking system that has hot and cold drinking water. I didn’t really learn what was RO water until after a few years of drinking it, but I always felt that the water was weirdly very tasteless and “clean”. RO is actually a process of water filtration that removes chemicals and substances from water, and along with all the naturally occurring minerals that you find in fresh water. In nature, fresh water contains minerals like calcium, magnesium, and potassium, which our body needs.

This is why, if you have every bought a bottle of mineral water vs drinking water at the convenience store, you will find the taste remarkably different!

Not only that, for these types of drinking water system, it is built into their contract where you are required to pay annually for servicing and changing of filters.

When it was our turn to choose a system for our home, I told Jo that we should consider a different system, which could provide clean, but yet healthy drinking water.

About a year ago, I was reading Cheesie’s blog and she did a post on CLEANSUI. I was very interested and eventually I contacted CLEANSUI for our new home. CLEANSUI is one of the leading names in water filtration in Japan, and have recently expanded to many other countries.

Up And Above with P1

Back in college in the US many years ago, Jo once flew me in a small plane the day he got his pilot’s license. It was a memorable experience as I remember being super happy because not many people get to experience being flown by someone you love. Ever since then I always wondered if I would get the same thrill as flying on a helicopter and I still remember asking Jo to get a helicopter license so that he could teach me how to fly a helicopter too. He was like, “Nah, they’re two different things”. When he graduated as a pilot there were no companies that were hiring so he had no choice but to go into a different field. No doubt, we were both frustrated, Jo couldn’t pursue what he really loved and for me, my dream of flying on a helicopter just sort of ended there haha. We both graduated and entered the lives as working adults until today.

Fast forward to today, while watching the infamous Fifty Shades of Grey (the scene where Christian takes Ana on a helicopter ride with Ellie Goulding’s Love Me Like You Do playing in the background) it just hit me ; Why didn’t I think of pursuing my dreams of flying a helicopter years ago? Why did I just let the gates of adulthood stand in the way of my teenage dreams?

And do dreams only come true in movies?
