Today’s post will be another #BoboTip for my readers, hahaha. Does everyone shop through the popular site, Rakuten Online Shopping? If you don’t, or have not heard of Rakuten Online Shopping, let me briefly intro you a bit on Rakuten.

Rakuten launched in Malaysia way back in November 2012, and currently carries over 210,000 goods from over 900 vendors. These vendors include popular household names like large electrical appliance chains and even leading pharmacies! By the amount of time I’ve spent on this site, I really think their global tagline of “Shopping is Entertainment” really applies to me, hahahaha.

Anyway, today I’m going to teach you guys how some #RakutenShoppingHacks and I’ll show you step by step on how to get the best deal possible on something that I recently bought.

The most important aspect of this “hack” is to understand and fully utilize their Super Points system to your advantage! Obviously the first step is to sign up for a free account to start accumulating Super Points. Do keep in mind that 1 Super Point = RM1 that you may use towards your next purchase!

Right now, Rakuten is having their 5x Rakuten Super Point programme, and you get 5x the amount of points as per normal (5% points rebate instead of 1%)!

OK, so the item I’m buying is a Samsung Note 5 for Jo, who wants to replace his 2-year old phone. I found a good deal from this popular vendor.

Notice that during the 5x Rakuten Super Points programme (5% rebate on purchase price), I will earn 134.95 Points (instead of the usual 1% rebate on purchase price; 26.99 Points).

In addition to this, Rakuten gives out free vouchers EVERY WEEKEND! How awesome is that!

If you are not making purchases on weekends, also keep in mind that Mastercard holders enjoy an additional 5% discount every WEDNESDAY! So, if your 5% discount amounts to more than the RM5 coupon they are offering this weekend, buy on Wednesday using a Mastercard! So for my purchase, using a Mastercard to purchase on Wednesday would saved me RM134.95, much more compared to the RM5 weekend voucher!

So now I’ve purchased the phone and earned 134.95 Super Points, I’m going to buy a phone case and I do not intend to spend any money on it!!! Hahaha.

TITAN WATCH

So today as I was rushing from work to an event, I was talking to Jo about how busy we’ve been lately. If you’ve been following me on social media lately, you should know I was in charge of planning my sister’s wedding and décor, all while working full time and also attending events and blogging!

I know I’ve been updating my blog less frequently these days, but time management is one of my weaknesses! Sometimes I’m jealous of full-time bloggers as they seem to have so much time to constantly update their social media and attend events. I really did consider doing this full-time, but in the end I always tell myself I need a stable paycheck, hahaha. #auntylife

Anyways, recently I’ve learned a lot about managing my time properly, and arranging tasks to complete in a timely manner. One thing I realized, which plays a very big role in helping me keep track of my time and schedule, is a good watch.

To me, a good watch has to be many things, not just a piece of equipment that tells the time. A good watch has to be like a good assistant, it must perform many tasks for me! Not only does it have to tell time accurately, it has to be incorporated into my look of the day. It has to be the perfect accessory or even a statement piece to complete my look.

A few days ago, I was invited to attend the Titan Watch Moonlight collection launch the other day at Svago KLCC. I think god always listens to my prayers, just when I’m asking for a new watch I received an invitation from Titan Watch!

Let me share a bit of the background of Titan watch before I share some pictures that I took at the event.

I got there before everyone so I got to take my own sweet time taking pictures of the venue and of course, the beautiful watches. “Titan Moonlight collection is inspired by the beauty of shimmering moonlight and it’s the perfect symbol of elegance and sensuality. It is designed to accentuate and enhance the aura of the Raga woman.”

Mystic Luna. This timepiece captures the aura of the moon surrounded by floating clouds.

Crescent Moon. It takes different forms of the slim silhouettes of the budding moon.

My favorite piece in the whole collection, Moon Lake.

Another timepiece that I really like but it’s from the winter collection.

The food that was served at the event was very good to my surprise. I kept going back to the buffet table to grab more fried chicken haha.

My buffet partner of the day was Huai Bin from Sixthseal!

Selamat Datang Ke SHELL

Would you consider yourself to be a morning person? Haha, I won’t lie, I am probably the grumpiest in the mornings, and Jo is well aware of this. He has probably learned the hard way over the years, but you can’t blame me right? Why is the alarm so annoying? Why is the sun so bright? Why is the tap so cold? Hahaha, there are literally a thousand things that can irritate me in the morning.

When I was still working in a media company a few years back, I hated waking up super early in the morning to drive to work because my office was located in Pusat Bandar Damansara and I lived in Puchong! It would be a super long commute, at least 45 mins to an hour, cause of the rush hour jams and knowing that it would be a super long day ahead (those of you working in a media company or accounting firm would know…) it just becomes unbearable sometimes.

I have my “go-to” place for a little pick me up in the mornings, and it is not a place most of you would expect. Not any fancy hip cafes or brunch spots certainly, but a Shell petrol station. Specifically the Shell station at the Awan Besar rest area heading towards KL!

This was “my” Shell station, as I would stop by most mornings for petrol, a quick beverage, and the requisite butter croissant! The staff would always greet me as if they have known me all my life and my grumpiness would be forgotten. The selection at the Deli2Go is always impressive and I’d always have trouble picking from one of their fresh pastries!

A little treat and the warmth from the staff never fail to pick me up in the mornings and take my mind off the traffic and busy day ahead!

Now that I’m no longer working there and commuting this route daily, I kinda miss my morning stops at my Shell station but it is nice to know that this warmth and this service is not isolated to one station only.

Make Beautiful Happen

My Makeup Tutorial Using KATE Tokyo

If you were to ask me which part of my daily makeup routine is the most time consuming, not to mention the toughest, I would have say my eyebrows. I’m not sure if the problem is my skills or what but I’m sure many would agree that eyebrows are the toughest compared to the rest! It’s so hard to achieve a natural looking or even-looking eyebrows. At one point I gave up and just simply drew on my eyebrows, as long as the color matched my hair =(

To be honest with you I have tried a few eyebrow pencils but none of them can achieve very natural looking brows. You know, some eyebrow pencils will even make your brows look fake, as if it was drawn by crayons hahahaha * plays Crayon Shin-chan theme song.

Fortunately, after a lot of time and money wasted on failed methods, I finally found one that helps me to create a very natural looking brows, without looking obviously drawn on by pencil.

Ladies, let me present to youKATE Eye-Defining Eyebrow that is created with 3 shades of powder. 3 different shades to help naturally shade the eyebrows and nose bridge all in one palette!

I have denoted the colors as A, B and C for ease of understanding!

Step 1 – Use shade B to draw a straight line under the eyebrow, using the flat brush!

Step 2 – Mix shade A and B with the flat brush and fill the space between the brow shaded line.

Step 3 – Mix A and B with the rounded brush and give a final touch to the eyebrow, making the inner corner darker!

Step 4 – Use Shade C with the rounded brush and brush on the side of the nose!

The brush that is shown here is a special limited set that comes with the Kate Designing Eyebrow palette – so if you have your own flat and round brush, that works too!

Wasn’t that easy? Drawing perfect eyebrows is no longer rocket science to me or you! Well, since I will be heading out later, I shall just complete my whole day look and share with you guys!

For my everyday look, I usually prefer to go with natural orange brown and nude gold from KATE Trap Impacts Eyes eyeshadows (BR-2). I’m quite bad in mixing eye shadows for my eyes because they never turn out nice so I always go with KATE Trap Impact Eyes as it comes with very simple instructions on their packaging.

Step 1- Lightly spread shade A over the upper eyelid with your fingertip.

Step 2- Blend shade B from the inner corner, out towards the crease using the finer tip of the applicator!

Step 3- Apply shade C along the upper eyelid edge and spread it upward, blending it with shade B.

Step 4- Apply shade D to the inner corner with the larger tip

Step 5- Spread shade E over the lower eyelid with the larger tip

Step 6- Using the thinner tip of the applicator; apply shade C on 1/3 of the lower eyelid from the outer corner.

Please take note that step 4- 6 is optional when you’re doing everyday/ natural look because I usually apply step 4- 6 if I’m going out at night or attending an events. Shade D and E are in gradation color shades to the lower eyelid to help to achieve your eyes look vertically larger.

KATE Tokyo has seriously put a lot of thought into our Asian girls’ need when it comes to makeup no wonder they are the NO,1 sales in Japan for more than 13 years, hands down on that!

After I’m done with my eye shadow I will move on to eyeliner. Today, I’m using KATE Super Sharp Liner.

The thing I like most about this is that the tip is very fine, and will help create a thin line for the natural look.

Who doesn’t like the effect of double eyelids? The sharper it gets the wider your eyes look. The god of all double eyelids, KATE Double Eyelid Remake Liner, it only comes in one color, which is a super pale brown to match most of our skin tone.

The step is pretty simple, you just need to draw a small line at the end of your double eyelid (outer corner) to help extending your natural double eyelid line. Simple step like that will help to create a sharper and wider-looking eyes. This concept is a very new concept in creating a more define-looking eye makeup, and I am impressed with the idea behind this product!

Look at the before and after effect! My eyelid are further elongated, and it looked very natural as though that is like my real eyelid length!

These are the main cosmetics that I use to create my daily look!

I’m done with my daily makeup and I’m ready to kick start a brand new day!
