  • The Extraordinary of Perth – I

Recently I was offered an all expenses paid trip to visit Perth with AirAsiaX and Tourism Western Australia and I was super excited cause I didn’t think I’d have the chance to visit Australia again so soon after my trip to Brisbane exactly a year ago. It was my first time visiting Perth so I went to do some research about the place before the trip. The images that I saw online were breathtaking especially the scenery in Margaret River and Rottnest Island.

For this trip, I also get to travel with Careen, Karen a blogger fren that I dont usually talk to much but have gotten much cloer to after this trip and also Nadia.

Our flight to Perth was at 12 a.m. and we went to the airport earlier to meet up with the clients and etc.

    DSC09416

After checking in and saying goodbye to Jo (who came to send me off =) ) we went to our boarding gate and I was super excited because we have been told that we will be traveling in Air Asia Premium Flatbed! This mean we get to have a good night’s sleep all the way to Perth and we will be ready to see what Perth has to offer.

There’s a lot of advantages to travel in AA premium flatbed such as express baggage delivery, express check-in, express boarding (bye long queues) and 40KG checked baggage allowance (more shopping yeah!).

So, after being served dinner supper, I fell asleep like a baby on board and all the way till the Captain announced that we have finally arrived at Perth International Airport!

    DSC09419

So nice of the people from Tourism of WA, they arranged a minivan to pick us up at the airport and straight to our hotel to change and get ready for the day ahead!

    DSC09421

We stayed in Be. Fremantle for the first night in Perth. Be. Fremantle is an ideal place for all types of travelers because it offers premium apartments with one, two or three-bed options. I personally love the idea of staying in an apartment because it brings back a lot of memories when I was a student in USA.

DSC09423The gorgeous view right from our balcony! The location of Be.Fremantle is perfect because it’s just a short walk away from restaurants and Fremantle market!

    DSC09429

DSC09433For our first stop in Fremantle, we went to Moore & Moore Cafe for breakfast! I love the vintage interior of this cafe because every corner is a photo opportunity!

    DSC09436

DSC09440I took me a while to decide which picture to show u guys so I posted all  hahaha.

DSC09445Their menu is pretty interesting, so I decided to go with something that I dont really get to eat in Malaysia! I had their pumpkin mash with a few slices of pork bacon. The bacon was very crispy and the pumpkin was so sweet! I’m a big fan of the combination of sweet and salty.

DSC09448 DSC09453After breakfast, we went to the contemporary art gallery right next to Moore cafe.

IMG_4239Our next stop was Fremantle Market, just a short walk from the cafe!

DSC09458Fremantle Market is a place where you can find fresh local produce, and, interesting and unique food! This is also the place where you can find the famous honey cake!

DSC09461That’s me and Careen looking excited!

DSC09464 DSC09465 DSC09468There are over 150 stalls housed in the grand Victorian building and they are open for business every Friday, Saturday and Sunday! If you’re a person who loves experience local food and culture then this is the perfect place for you to check out!

DSC09472We also took a slow walk along the South Terrace a.k.a. Cappuccino Strip because there are a lot of cafes along the street! If  you’re tired of walking in the market you can check out this area for a short coffee break.

    DSC09470

We also passed by this bookstore that you can have a blind date with a book, quite interesting le!

    DSC09479
    DSC09478

When it was time for lunch, we went to Bread In Common! I love the concept of this restaurant because I love bare, open and industrial design. This restaurant used to be an old Fremantle warehouse and then converted into a huge dinning area with an open kitchen!

    DSC09486

DSC09482I always want a kitchen that has marble tops and brick walls!

    DSC09491

We ordered a few dishes to be shared between the 6 of us!

    DSC09492
The dish that I liked the most was their lamb! It’s a MUST try! The texture of the lamb is so different from the usual dry and overcooked stuff in Malaysia. The skin was super crispy but the meat is very tender and juicy complemented with the strong acidic flavors, it’s the best lamb dish I have ever eaten!

DSC09493We also tried their beef! So good to travel with frens so I can try a few different dishes!

    DSC09500

After a satisfying lunch, we met up with a tour guide from Two Feet & a Heartbeat Walking tours to show us around Fremantle! Our walking tour started at Bread In Common and ended up at MANY 6160! The whole tour took around 1 hour and 30 min, including a stop at a beer factory which used to be a crocodile farm!

    DSC09497

There is a lot of historical buildings in Fremantle which is why a walking tour is perfect here!

    DSC09504

We also stopped by at the World Heritage listed Fremantle Prison. As you can see, I was sentenced for being too pretty *joke, I have nothing to say. I’m guilty as charged.

    DSC09508

    DSC09615

    Gorgeous view from Round House.

DSC09525A pit stop at The Little Creatures beer factory! Their draft beer is super refreshing and perfect for a sunny day!

    DSC09532 DSC09531

After a long day of walking around Fremantle, we managed to catch the sunset at the beach nearby our apartment.

    1

Our dinner was at Bather Beach House which is located right at the beach. As usual, we ordered a few dishes to share and it was a seafood feast!!

My first night in Perth wrapped up with a plate of really good fish & chips in my tummy and super cute housemates (Karen and Careen) to keep me company.

    —————————————————

On our 2nd day in Perth, we visited the famous Rottnest Island which is a 40 min ferry ride from Fremantle jetty! We woke up pretty early to get ready and had breakfast in the room then off we went!

DSC09550We got to the jetty pretty early so we managed to take a few pictures before boarding! Coincidentally, everyone wore pastel colors on the second day!

    DSC09552

We boarded Rottnest Express at 9.30am. I love how public transport in Australia is so punctual. There is a few optional tours for you to experience but if u prefer to walk around on your own you can just hire a bike and cycle around the island at your own pace! I will strongly recommend you guys to rent a bike because the island is HUGE and there is a lot of places to explore and take pictures.

DSC09569We collected our bike the moment we arrived at the jetty! I was beyond excited because I dont have to walk and it’s always fun to cycle on an island!

    DSC09713

Candid shot taken by Karen and this was the reason why I decided to buy a Sony A7, similar to what she was using hahhaha

    DSC09575

Passing the railway road while cycling around Rottnest Island, it reminded me some of the scenes in The Walking Dead haha.

    DSC09725

There was a lot of picture perfect spots but too bad we didnt have enough time to explore every single spot T__T If u ever plan to visit Rottnest please make sure you plan your day accordingly =)

    DSC09743

Our highlight of the day was joining the Segway Tours WA in Rottnest Island!

DSC09739It was my very first time riding on a Segway so I was super excited but also stressed at the same time. I have no idea how does this thing operate! I dont know whether I will be able to keep it going or not hahah. We took the Settlements Explorer tour package which includes basic training and a journey of exploration through the Thomson Bay Settlement (1 hour). I strongly recommend everyone to take this tour if you only plan to visit Rottnest for a day because this tour basically covers everything u need to see in Rottnest without having to walk or cycle!

    DSC09779

    DSC09599

The tour ended at the lighthouse and the view was AMAZING!!

    DSC09598

Look at the color of the sea T___T omg I want to stay on this island when I retire haha.

    DSC09776

    It’s so so so pretty!

    DSC09600

    Picture with the lighthouse haha.

DSC09582Then off we went back to return the Segways and it was time for lunch!!!

    IMG_4293

Selfie with the Segway girls before going off to lunch!

    DSC09608

We had our lunch at Hotel Rottnest, pizza and a glass of iced Coke!

    DSC09617

The weather was pretty hot that day so we ordered ice cream for dessert!!

    IMG_4284

We also bumped into a special guest, a quokka! They are pretty much every where on the Island and they LOVE taking selfies hahahaha.

We left the island then went to Perth City to check in to our accommodation!

    DSC09619DSC09620

We arrived at Perth City and took a short walk to our hotel. We also passed by Barrack Street where the shopping was!! Unfortunately they were all closed =( Everything closes at 5pm in Perth T_____T

    DSC09621

We checked into Four Points by Sheraton, and  it’s by far my fav stay throughout the whole trip =) The location was awesome,  just 10-15 min walk to Barrack Street! The room was clean and new!

    DSC09625

After freshening up a bit, we went to COCO’s for dinner!

DSC09639The meal was delicious and satisfying! If you ever go to the restaurant remember to order their fries! I dont know why but their fries are super good, it’s super crispy and the texture is just perfect because there are no soggy fries hehe.

We ended our 2nd night in Perth by going to bed at 10pm because everyone was exhausted from exploring.

    To be continued…

  • Bobo’s Big Day Out!

If you’re following me on Dayre or Instagram you should have already known that I have recently released my own show on Reelity TV Channel on Youtube! I’ve always wondered how does it feel like to host a show, whether it will be fun or too stressful. English is not my first language and my brain always goes blank when I need to speak in front of a camera haha. When I was first offered this opportunity I wanted to reject it instantly but I’m so glad I didnt. I discussed with JO a little then he was very supportive over the whole idea, he told me to just take it and have fun. He encouraged me to do it and told me I’ll be all right. He says it’s not as hard as you think, just speak like u’re talking to ur friend, dont be pretentious as thats’s what everyone likes about u.

I was like OK, lets do it! At my first shoot I was so tense and made a lot of mistakes (well, not like I dont make mistakes now lol). I had a hard time remembering the name of the dishes and ingredients when the camera is rolling! Thank god the crew were so patient and nice haha!

OK, Let me share the 4 Ws (Why, When, What, Who) of Bobo’s Big Day Out and also some behind-the-scenes of the show!

    What?

    f8884c0e-9206-40a7-9bf5-f893ec0f615b

Bobo’s Big Day Out is basically a 3-4 min short video to show some of the healthy recipes that can easily be done at our kitchen and also some alternative activities you can try instead of going to the gym.

    Why?

    2014-10-30 12.42.26 3

The reason why I decided to do this is mainly because I would love to share with my friends and readers how easy it is to eat healthy at home. A lot of people have the wrong concept of eating clean, they tot eating clean means eating tasteless and boring food. I have seen ppl who shars their so called “eating clean” on their Instagram and I instantly got turned off so I wont blame you guys if you have this misconception. If you’re following me on Dayre or Instagram you should know that eating clean can be very fun and satisfying! So in some of the episodes of Bobo’s Big Day Out, I decided to share with everyone what kind of healthy meals that I usually eat at home! And yes, everything can be done as long as you have a pan and a stove at home, you’re welcome!

Besides cooking, I also share some fun and relatively unknown activities that you can try in KL. Have you heard of Ultimate Frisbee or Quidditch (yes, the game in Harry Potter movies ^^)! Without this show I wouldn’t be able to experience these new activities and to share with everyone!

    Who?

    IMG_4674

OK, there is 2 who in this question. 1 st will be who are the crew? They are the very talented and professional people behind Reelity TV! I’m so glad that I have them onboard. They are very professional and patient when it comes to the shoot. All I need to do on the shooting day is to make sure I look good and they will handle the rest! The bonus part is that I dont have to spend 100 hours to edit the video, YAHOOO!

    IMG_4678

Who were my special guests in some of the episode? Dont even need to ask because first person who came to my mind was Jo (my personal eat clean chef ) and also CityGal from KampungBoyCityGal! I love how KBCG always make cooking look so easy and effortless hahaha, give them whatever ingredients they will serve u something amazing! I strongly suggest u all to try the Lemon rice recipe that Citygal cooked in my show!

     When?

The first episode of Bobo’s Big Day Out was released 2 months ago (sorry I’m only telling you guys now T_T). Currently there is a total of 5 episodes that have already been released on Reelity TV Youtube Channel. The air time of my remaining episodes are every other Friday!

Besides that, I also get to experience some activities that I would have never had a chance to try such as Ultimate Frisbee and Quidditch!

You guys can find out more from the videos, so remember to subscribe and watch all the videos!!

    Thanks for the support!!!

  • Dont Be That Person At the Gym

As usual, we went to the gym yesterday and bumped into a few ignorant pieces of shit so they inspired me to share today’s title. Waw the list goes on and on when I start discussing with Jo this topic.

The top 7 people that I find very annoying at the gym!

1- Those who don’t put the equipment back to its original place especially those who use the dumbbells at the free weight section! By simply throwing them on the floor and leaving without even caring if he/she is acting like a piece of shit. I give u a 👏 *golf clap

2- Those who talk super loud with their friends. I understand sometimes the music can be a little too loud but u don’t have to shout lo, I’m not interested into ur car, ur girl or ur money la, ok? Just keep ur mouth shut and do ur workout. Don’t act like u’re in a mamak or in a market la.

3- Those who takes forever to complete a set of workout especially when they don’t realize there is a queue waiting to use the same machine. I understand u need a little break between each sets but taking more than 5 min break is just too ridiculous la. Everyone is paying the same $ as u and u don’t own the machine ok! Just get things done and leave!

4- Those who play with their phone. Yupe, the title explains it all. There are people would like to use the rack, bench, machine that u have been sitting on for 15 min or so while u’re playing with ur damn phone chatting, FB-ing or Instagram-ing. If u don’t know yet, there is an area for you to rest and play with ur phone, it’s called a lounge area with a sofa. You’re welcome ☺️

5- Those who have no idea what they r doing. Ok, this one is quite subjective, but it annoys me. I’m talking about those who try to use every single machine in the gym but have no idea what they r doing. Most of them are newbies or new to the branch, they literally just walk around at the gym. Example, that day I saw a skinny girl go to every machines and she spends less than 2 min at each machine. Imagine ran for 1 min then move to back machine and do 5 times then leave 😒 lost……….

6- Mirror Selfie freaks. JO told me the other day he saw a guy set his camera on a dumbbell just to take pic of him posing at the bar rack machine. Using dumbbell as a tripod le! This one win liao lor!  Actually it’s ok if u do it when there is not a lot of ppl around because I do it too lol but when there is a queue waiting at ur machine u don’t la! Be respectful ma…

7- One more to the list! Those guys who hogging 2,4 and 6 kg dumbbells. Bro, why do u need 2 and 4 kg dumbbells o??? U’re training ur fingers issit? Don’t lift like a girl la. There was once I saw this guy hogging a 4kg dumbbells and I need it to complete my set so I walked to him and ask *pointing at 4kgs Hi, sorry do u need these? He says Yes! I then replied 4 kgs wor? Then he says Yea! I was like Ok =.=

Then I saw him using it to do his shoulder routine I was like WTF? Even I started with 4 kgs le omg.

I went to google annoying ppl at the gym meme and saw this lol. Ok la, ppl might find me and Jo annoying too cox we do the same routine together on alternative days. But we don’t drink water together like in this pic lo. Hahahhaah

My every week routine goes like this,

-Monday, Wednesday and Friday usually I will do Kayla BBG 2.0

    – Tuesday and Thursday I do back and shoulder with Jo

    – I try doing abs workout everyday after my usual routine if I’m not too tired or it’s not too late.

I went to the gym the other day with full makeup on cox I attended an event before that. When I was at the gym people gave me a weird and judging stares lol. Neh, I found this meme hahahaa.

Well, I guess that’s all I have for now! It’s all based on what I have experienced la but if u have more, please feel free to share with me or us!

  • Perfect Solution for Shiny and Healthier Nails at Home

    Sponsored Post

Look at this picture… Any of you actually carry these around when you’re travelling?

    IMG_3756

I DO! I’m not going to lie, ever since I started travelling more often, I realized how important is it to have a manicure set with me wherever I go. The reason why I need to carry a manicure set with me is because I always manage break my nails under any circumstances, no matter in the pool, beach, shopping or etc. My nails are considered very fragile and dry so it breaks easily. The problem is that it’s quite troublesome to have to carry a bag full of metal clippers and scissors but I have finally found the perfect solution for this situation!

    IMG_3750

Scholl has finally come out with the best solution for people like me, an electronic nail care system *screams*. Most of you should already know Scholl, as they are the first choice for healthy and better looking feet. Now they don’t just take good care of your feet, they take care of you nails too! How amazing is that!

    How it works?

Scholl’s Velvet Smooth Electronic Nail Care System comes with a nail system file with 3 different heads for filing, buffing and shining both toe nails and finger nails. The great thing about it is that it uses 1 AA battery (included), there is no need to carry along a charger or whatever and you can easily get a 1 AA battery anywhere you go!

Let me show you how to get a perfect natural looking and shiny nails in 3 steps!

    IMG_3751 IMG_3748

First, put the file head (1) on the nail pen, switch it on and choose speed from 2 speed options. You don’t really need to do much if you’re using Scholl electronic nail care system because it will vibrate and file your nails itself. All you need to do is to slowly move it around to achieve the desired shape you want.

    IMG_3752 IMG_3747

Secondly, put on the buff head (2) to even out imperfections and smoothen the nail surface.

    IMG_3753 IMG_3749

Lastly, put on the shine head (3) and shine the nail surface in a circular motion. Apply light pressure for best results.

    IMG_3754

Then, you’re done!! For the best shiny touch you can apply Scholl rich cuticle and nail oil.

    IMG_3746 IMG_3745

Another good thing about Scholl Velvet Smooth Electronic Nail Care System is that it’s very light and compact. It can be used at anywhere… You can do it sitting on the sofa while watching the TV or at the table haha.

    IMG_3755

If you were to ask me what’s the MUST bring on a trip, I would say a nail care system =) If would like to have one for yourself too feel free to visit LAZADA web site because they are having promotion for Scholl Velvet Smooth Electronic Nail Care System if you use the promo Code FILE30 but do it quick because it’s only valid from 7 – 31st March for RM30 off.

May everyone have perfect and shiny nails =)

  • Malaysians, It’s Time to Plan A Trip Yo!

Can you believe this? I couldn’t believe this myself because I tot Malaysia had the most public holidays in the world and people would be looking to travel. So why don’t Malaysians take holidays? I found this survey conducted by Expedia- it is said that 38.2% of Malaysians do not use their vacation days because of their busy work schedule. True? For me, I have a 9-5 job and I can relate to this because sometimes I have so much work in the office that I feel guilty taking leave to give myself a break. I have been telling myself this is very unhealthy because trust me, you will be more efficient and energetic after a short break from work.

When I was busying rearranging my pictures on desktop, I came across an album that I totally forgot to share with everyone! I remembered my trip to Queensland with Citygal for #Escapers2015! That was a great trip and I definitely felt more refreshed and energetic when I came back to work. Okay, I want to tell you about my trip. I have already blogged about Brisbane so now it’s time to share about my experience in Sunshine Coast. I’m going to cut it short and post a few pictures that I like and put in some captions ok!

DSC05777It’s ok if you’ve never been to Australia Zoo but I’m 100% sure you have heard of the “Crocodile Hunter” or Steve Irwin! Yupe, he is the founder of this well known zoo in Australia!

DSC05712While waiting for everyone to arrive, Citygal and I took pictures with Steve lol.

DSC05721Our task of the day was to take pictures with Australia indigenous animals such as Mr Kangaroo! They are running freely every where in the zoo, super cute!

    P3030484

But I personally still prefer Koala! I always tot they were small and fluffy but no le they are quite heavy and big LOL. It was like hugging a 2 year old baby.

P3030512I also took the opportunity to test my bravery and I got 100 points for that =) If im not mistaken the breed for this snake is the Woma Python!

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAI also met Wombat while he was taking his walk in the Zoo.

DSC05728Then it was time for the crocodile appearance !!!

DSC05744Look at how big it is!!!

    DSC05751 DSC05749

This is a very well known show !! The crocodile is HUGE! The show basically teaches you how to prevent getting attacked by crocodiles if u happen to bump into one and also what’s their behavior like. It’s quite interesting!

    DSC05742

Coke zero and a chicken sandwich on a sizzling day at the zoo, super satisfying.

DSC05730 DSC05729I kinda miss my sun kissed skin le! I NEED to go to the beach soon!! There’s citygal, Bomb (BKK) and our leaders!

    DSC05781

After visiting Kangaroos and Koalas, we visited Mooloolaba beach!

    DSC05780

    DSC05786

Look at how beautiful the weather was, and also the beach!!! It’s so perfect for sun tanning or a swim, why we dont have this in Malaysia le!!!

    DSC05788

So sad that we didnt get to enjoy the beach most because we had to finish up our task for the day. Our task was to find a souvenir shop and convince the owner to give us a Mooloolaba t shirt for free LOL.

DSC05797Then our next task was to dress like a life guard hahahhaha.

    DSC05801

DSC05805Tried out the jet boat for the first time and it was super fun!!! It would have been more exciting and fun if the waves were higher that day!

    DSC05819

DSC05822My room for the night, complete with a back yard! We stayed in Novotel Twin Waters Resort… When I stepped into the backyard I saw a wild kangaroo hopping around the garden!

DSC05825My first experience with inflatable water sports !! It was so much fun but it’s quite torturing after a few rounds because I got a few cuts and scrapes on my legs and butt lol.

    DSC05831

DSC05857Dinner under the moon and fairy lights with a group of amazing people that we met at #Escapers2015! Thanks Accor hotels, Queensland Tourism and Scoot Airlines for the great opportunity!

After typing out this post I realized how much I miss the sun, beach and tan lines. How I wish I could just pack my bags and head to wherever destination I want and do it once a month! The problem is that I’m just like any of you who has a job, family or school commitments, holidays sure dont come so easy and often for us.

So, going back to the survey I found online, I’m pretty surprised that most Malaysians only take half of their allocated leave a year! OMG to those who are guilty on this matter, please do something about it! You deserve a holiday more than anyone in your office lol. Here’s the survey if you are curious.
