Beauty Tips 2

The first step of my make up routine is to apply primer for my face. I’m using MAC’s prep+prime and it keeps my foundation on all day and helps to blend my foundation better on my face. It will be a little bit oily for oilier skin types but it works good on me as I have dry/normal skin. In fact, I like that it provides a little bit of oil on my face because this will help my foundation look more natural. O yea, it doesn’t contain SPF but if you prefer something that contains SPF try their Prep+Prime face protect SPF 50. It’s similar to what Im using but with SPF50. If SPF 50 is not enough for you try to apply  some sun block. I have tried UV EXPERT 20 WITH MEXORY from Lancome.

The second step is to apply a concealer. I am using MAC’s Studio Sculpt concealer ( N30) with a Shu Uemura brush. I prefer to apply my concealer with a brush. I apply the concealer over the areas around my eyes, the corner of my lips and also the edges of my nose. I use my ring fingers to softly tap the areas around my eyes to make sure my concealer is equally blended onto my dark circles. As for now, this concealer works pretty good on my darkened areas but not my dark circles. I have heard a lot of people telling me that YSL’s concealer is very good for dark circles, I will try it right after I finish mine.

The third step of my make up routine is to apply foundation. This is Teint Resist Long Wear Transfer Resistant foundation ( #4 sand) which I just bought, I love how it gives me a very natural look in real life or in pictures. It’s not too white or thick. I have tried MAC and Anna Sui foundation and I find they both give me a yellowish tint and it’s too white in pictures even thought I bought the right color for my face.

Another foundation that I use is Teint Parfait Complexion Enchancer (#3 champagne) from YSl as well. It’s actually a make up base, but I use it as a foundation because it’s light and it gives a little bit of moisture and shimmers on your face. It’s pretty good if you just use it as a foundation and it covers pretty much everything on my face and still gives a very natural and flawless look.

When I’m applying foundation I always squeezes a little bit on my hand and equally apply them using a foundation brush over my face and neck.

Next, I apply Estée Lauder’s Lucidity Transluscent Loose Powder ( light). Personally I love this loose powder, it’s really light and controls oil very well. Besides that it also minimizes the look of lines and wrinkles. I will definitely recommend this to anyone who is thinking about getting a loose powder.

Try to apply your loose powder with a powder brush instead of the tap puff included. It’s harder to wash the tap puff compared to a brush. I used to use the tap puff but I found that it does not evenly apply the powder on my face or maybe Im just not good in using it. I got myself a new powder brush from a specialist cosmetic store near my area. It’s from EcoTools. My friend recommended this brand to me the other day, it’s really soft and better yet, its eco friendly. This is the softest brush I have ever touched, and it’s only 9 usd, CHEAP!

After my foundation, it’s time for me to focus on my eyes. I use Dior’s pencil eyeliner. It’s easy to draw with and it’s soft too, so you don’t have to worry about hurting your eyes. It contains a brush at the other end of the pen so you can use it to blend your eye liner if you want to.

Recently I got myself a new pencil eyeliner after using the same brand of eyeliner for more than 3 years. I chose MAC’s pencil eyeliner. It has a really dark black tone compared to Dior. The only disadvantage of this eyeliner is that its easily smudged compared to Dior’s . I’ve used this a couple of times and I got fed up with it, so I will strongly recommend Dior’s pencil eyeliner.

Here is a tip for drawing on your eyeliner. I realized that a lot of people tend to forget to draw their inside eye lids so, make sure that you always draw your inside eye lips. I always place my mirror below my face and apply the liner on the inside eye lid with a pencil eyeliner. This will create a very natural look and also make your eyes look bigger and round.

After I’m done with the pencil eyeliner, I layer over it with my liquid eyeliner. Im using a liquid eyeliner from Loreal. It’s really long lasting and water proof. I love everything thats water proof because you never know maybe one day you might get pushed into a pool without warning and you will look scary if you don’t use water proof cosmetic.

P/s: I apply liquid eyeliner under my eyelids too.

I promise you, this will be the last step in applying my eye liner. I use MAC’s shimmer eye shadow to layer over my eyeliner because this will create a more natural looking instead of a hashed black line.

I curl my eye lashes using Shu Uemura’s lash curler and I’m using Maybelline’s Define-A-Lash mascara. It gives me volume on my eye lashes and of cox it’s waterproof. I have tried Chanel’s mascara but it’s not as good as this one because it smudges easier but it’s still marketed as waterproof. I always get a black smudged line underneath my eyes after a few hours wearing Chanel’s mascara.

I prefer mascaras with a plastic brush because it helps separate my lashes and it’s easier to apply.

To finish up my look, I use Anna Sui’s pink blush.

and Annu Sui’s lip gloss. I usually apply this color of lips gloss at night.

I apply this transparent lip gloss from Victoria Secret during the day.

Well, I think thats pretty much about it for my beauty post. Hopefully it will answer all your questions and I do hope that they work out well like they do for me. By the way, I’m trying my best to learn how to apply eye shadow. I found out that I look really scary with eye shadow so I have been resisting to apply anything other than eye liner. Well, I do hope one day I will be able to apply eye shadow like a pro and not look scary or weird.

I was using the 3rd MAC eyeliner even though it smudges easily but i love how black it is. But not until i discovered Kate gel eyeliner, which is just as black as MAC. ^^
